The Company:

This is one of those unique opportunities that do not come around very often and a chance to be part of a progressive organisation with 2 premium brands, both with national scalability potential. Seeking a Board level Operations Director to lead this growth, working with the existing owner/founder and alongside the Private Equity firm.

Up to this point, the business has a very northern centric operation but they have secured 2 new openings which will bring them further south and are looking for additional new sites across the country. The head office however is in Manchester, so it is preferred that you will be commutable to there.

A well established and stable company that have confidence in their concepts but are at a stage where they will really benefit from a senior executive who has exposure to building an infrastructure accompanied with the processes and systems to build a brand.

The Role:

The Operations Director will be responsible and accountable for driving sales, optimising EBITDA and the general day to day running of the Restaurants. The person is a role model for the business ensuring the very best standards of food, and service for our customers and care for our employees. The OD will support with the planning, execution and management of the operations strategy including new openings, implementing marketing and sales driving initiatives, developing and maximising relationships with third party suppliers.

  • Drive, monitor and analyse sales performance and profitability, delivering and exceeding growth and annual targets.
  • Ensure that all controllable costs are kept to a minimum and justify and explain overspends, ensuring product quality and customer experience and ultimately sales are not affected
  • Support and engage with other Directors and Heads of Functions in ensuring that the day-to-day running of the business is correctly managed, organised and structured to meet the business plan and objectives.
  • Ensure implementation of all agreed restaurant operating standards with regard to people, product, service, systems and contractors.
  • Establish new trading opportunities that deliver financial upside to the business.
  • Define premium product quality and customer experience Restaurant operating standards, communicate, implement, train and monitor these standards at all times across all restaurants to ensure consistency throughout the business.
  • Become a role model for all the General Managers in delivering the standards when you are working in the Restaurants.
  • Develop and implement easy to use systems and processes to support our operating standards being delivered, ensuring they are

The successful candidate will have exposure to running and developing a quality operation.  You must be able to hit the ground running and adapt to the culture of the business quickly. This is an entrepreneurial business with a team who require leadership and structure in order to maximise the business potential.

  •  Experienced with a proven track record in multi-site management at this level
  • Exceptional people and motivational skills
  • Good marketing and branding experience
  • Have a knowledge of industry trends and understand the demands of the casual dining market
  • Experience in establishing recruitment, training and succession plans
  • Financially astute
  • Entrepreneurial flair and the capacity to drive and deliver new ideas
  • The ability to handle a complex and multi-faceted role
