Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

We are seeking an outstanding individual to take responsibility for the efficient and effective management of both Kensington and Kew Palaces, ensuring the delivery of a 5 star experience, as two of our nations must see attractions. The successful candidate will be responsible for all operational, financial and stakeholder management activities, whilst also further developing commercial opportunities to further enhance the visitor experience across both Palaces.

Candidates will have extensive experience of working within a highly complex customer-centric commercial environment and must be capable of building lasting relationships with high profile external parties.

You will have a wealth of operational management experience with a passion for heritage, have the ability to implement change and drive operational efficiencies. You must have extensive experience of managing a varied and multicultural workforce and a track record of getting the best out of people in a way that is empowering, involving and participative.

Reporting to the Palaces Group Operations Director and being part of the senior management team, you will also be a strong and engaging communicator, and have the ability to think creatively and problem solve. You will also be comfortable acting as Duty Manager and working some evenings and weekends, as required.
