rhubarb is an exceptional business and they are currently on the hunt for the very best hospitality talent.

The business has been through an incredible transformation over recent years. In addition to their very well established events business they have added some incredible locations to their portfolio – notably the Royal Albert Hall plus they are now at the end of their second season of running the bars, restaurants and events at Goodwood Racecourse, Revival and Festival of Speed. The business also opened the 36th & 37th floor restaurants and events space at the Sky Garden (the Walkie Talkie building at 20 Fenchurch Street) in 2015 and this was the company’s first leased operation; since then they have signed the lease on 10,000 square feet of space at CenterPoint plus they have some very exciting developments up their sleeve which are set to transform the business yet again. They also have an established travel business with restaurants at Heathrow and City Airports.

rhubarb have new private equity investors; Livingbridge and they are looking to double turnover from £60m to £120m over the next three years so. The future is incredibly exciting.   Their current growth cycle has led to a very positive internal move within the business which means “rhubarb” are looking for someone to lead their operation at the Royal Albert Hall which is a seven day operation. The business moves seamlessly from one concert/show to another. rhubarb operate 14 bars, 4 restaurants, 147 boxes there. The business is well supported with key operational department heads, a head of sales and a team of 240 based on site, supplemented in peak times.

The Hall wakes up around 9am with all your key stakeholders coming to site around then. The business itself of course has peak trading hours pre show i.e. 5.30pm-7.30pm. There are around 4 big very high profile ‘gala’ style dinner per annum so whilst this is an evening ‘location’ the hours are not overly gruelling.

The development opportunities within rhubarb given their dynamic and ambitious plans are second to none. An incredible business full of wonderful people.  rhubarb have found great success by recruiting candidates from sizeable 5* hotel/restaurant F&B backgrounds as the rigour around commercials really helps its managers take ownership plus the inherent standards existing in 5* hotels aligns very nicely with rhubarb’s own uncompromising high standards.   In order to fulfil this role you are likely to have managed a high end, multi-disciplined F&B business of in excess of £10m turnover and please illustrate this when you apply if it is not immediately obvious from your cv.
