2019 ACE Robyns Awards

11 July 2019

It’s an event very close to our hearts here at Troika, and we were delighted to once again sponsor the ACE Robyns Awards at the ACE Summer Party which was held last night at King’s Place in London. A highlight in the hospitality industry social calendar, the event hosted over 200 guests who enjoyed fabulous food and drinks from the talented team at Green & Fortune.

As with every year, 2019’s 14-strong field of Robyns Award finalists represented the very best young talent under 35 the industry has to offer. Finalists ranged from Operations Managers and GMs to Chefs from across the UK.

This year’s deserving overall winner, Rebecca (Bee) Armstrong, Operations Manager with The Genuine Dining Company, was absolutely thrilled to be awarded the top prize. Chris Mitchell, MD of Genuine Dining collected the award on Bee’s behalf as she was unable to be there in person on the night.

Her incredible prize was arranged by Troika – Bee will enjoy a night’s stay for two, dinner in Isla and breakfast in bed at The Standard, London’s newest luxury hotel which opens its doors today.

Liam Hatcher from CH&CO was awarded the second prize and due to the exceptionally high standard of nominees, this year there were two additional highly commended awards which went to Charlotte Rouse from BaxterStorey and Emma Abruzzese from Vacherin. In recognition of their achievements and to also ensure that their insights are part of ACE’s forward strategy, both Bee and Liam will be invited to sit on the Board for the next year.

The 2019 Awards were chaired by Vic Laws, MBE and the judges were Tim Jones, Founder of CH&Co.; Gaye Bullard, Chair of ACE (outgoing); Suzie Boyd, Founding Director at Troika and Sue Thompson, Vice Chair of ACE (incoming Chair 2019).
