The Role

As they embark on their next phase of growth, our client is looking for a strong Head of People who will design, implement and own people strategies that support their overall mission, values, and objectives. You will be responsible for leading the department and supporting the continued growth of the People Team.

Working directly as part of the Senior Leadership team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to engage in business decision-making & senior stakeholder management from the off! You will play a crucial part in shaping the team and culture – ensuring people thrive, stay motivated, productive and enjoy fulfilling careers, whilst at the same time maintaining a scalable business unit that can cope with ambitious growth plans.

The Candidate

  • A People/HR expert with 5+ years’ experience in the field
  • Previous experience leading a department and line management of a person or team of people
  • A strategic visionary – you can craft a compelling vision that aligns seamlessly the company mission
  • A clear & confident communicator, at all levels
  • Adaptable and open-minded, able to work in a fast paced environment and roll with the punches
  • Passionate about people – your emotional intelligence & relationship-building skills are your superpowers, creating an atmosphere where every team member feels valued and motivated
  • A feedback champion – ability to coach team members with insight, nurturing a culture of growth.
  • You face tough decisions head-on & can stand by your choices, learning from every result
  • Organised and methodical – you love to introduce helpful structure and enjoy optimising and iterating processes to ensure everything’s smooth running

After toying with becoming an actress, I found my home in hospitality around 22 years ago. I worked as an operator with Tootsies in London. I fell into hospitality recruitment working across branded restaurants, before heading up 5 national recruitment offices.

After a 2 year stint in executive search, I went in-house leading recruitment and development functions within Giraffe, LEON and most recently Gail’s.
