The Opportunity

The Culinary Director is the leading point of contact for all aspects of the BOH operation. You will be focused on elevating every element of their culinary offerings, with a continual focus on innovation and quality. You will;

  • Bring a Michelin level of detail to all culinary development, no matter the industry segment
  • Drive menu development and execution
  • Train, develop and mentor your team
  • Ensure the maintenance of the highest level of food hygiene throughout every business
  • Develop and execute a concise strategy in relation to ‘all things culinary’
  • Drive and maintain highly organised, motivated and effective kitchen teams

The Candidate

This role will form an integral part of the business’ EXCO, and will be the first point of contact for every strategic element of its culinary operations. A confident, self assured and collaborative personality is required to further ensure the business’ continued success moving forwards. You will; 

  • Have extensive experience in building culinary strategy
  • Have previous ‘board level’ experience
  • Be highly organised and show great attention to detail in everything you do
  • Have extensive experience in new concept development within restaurants
  • Come from a Michelin background in your early to mid career
  • Have a high level of ability in a broad range of culinary styles
  • You will remain calm and in control even in the most high pressure situations
  • You will develop and manage an innovative menu development team
  • Have a professional background, and personality, that commands respect from day 1

I started my career as a KP and straight away I knew hospitality was the one. After 14 years in central London ops, recruitment is where I found my true passion – supporting and guiding the best businesses and candidates in our wonderful industry. I spent the last two years as a Consultant for a well known restaurant group, building the teams in existing sites as well as their new openings. I specialise in both BOH and FOH recruitment for the premium and super premium sectors.
