The Retail Buying Director is a new and unique opportunity is this hugely successful business that continues to grow and evolve.

The Role

The Retail Buying Director is responsible for leading the global retail buying function through a time of evolution. You will be responsible for developing a global strategy for multiple brands and will:

  • Provide analysis and insight into global industry trends & benchmarking from the leisure and entertainment sector and across wider high street and online.
  • Continuously analyse sales performance at category and line level to identify retail opportunities and make informed buying decisions based on data to drive financial performance and guest satisfaction.
  • In order to deliver the agreed strategies, identify potential new suppliers and evaluate their capabilities, reliability, and ability to achieve commercial requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying process efficiencies and implementing best practice within the buying function
  • Lead and develop a high-performing retail buying team, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring.

The Candidate

Not afraid to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in, a passion for driving the best deal is essential, as is a sense of fun and a commitment to deliver excellence, you will have:

  • Proven experience as a Buying Director, leading teams and operating on an international basis
  • In-depth expert knowledge of retail range development across key categories; development and buying practices, market trends, and assessing consumer behaviour.
  • Entrepreneurial flair; able to look for and seize business opportunities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with Executive level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities; passionate about developing others with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Innovative thinking and action delivery in relation to problem solving.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including promoting benefits of teamwork, across multiple territories / regions.
