The Client

Our client is a growing national restaurant business and as Commercial Director, you will touch every part of the business, driving operational excellence, overall performance, and continued success.

There is an ambitious yet achievable growth plan on which to deliver, and a key part of this role will be gearing the brand up for success. Processes and procedures will need streamlining in order to ensure ops excellence, sound management, an outstanding guest experience, and strong profit performance at both site and group level.

The Opportunity

As Commercial Director you will be involved in the detail around operational and functional execution, supporting and guiding each function of the business to ensure alignment, collaboration and a focus on united objectives. 

The business is going through transition in preparation for growth and there will be changes to structure, responsibilities, and ways of working; as Commercial Director you will have a key part to play in the building of organisational structure, the consolidation of systems and processes, and the leadership of a large and multi-functional team to implement change and maximise performance.

We are looking for a senior level candidate, who can support across every element of a high volume, multi-site operation. The ideal candidate will have experience across multiple business functions, including, property, finance, commercial and operations. 

The Candidate

  • Hands on operational focus and an excellent communicator.
  • Broad experience across operations and functions, with particular skill and focus around finance, commercial procurement, project and facilities.
  • The role will be 50/50 head office and restaurant based and will require a significant amount of travel. The successful candidate will be flexible with regard to travel.
  • Resilience, gravitas and ability to have impact and deliver clear results will be vital, along with an engaging and inspirational leadership style. 
  • This person may have owned their own business previously or will have worked in a medium to large business across a number of functions, potentially at MD level to give the scope of experience required.
