The Company

My client is a young but rapidly growing, private equity backed hospitality company delivering beautiful foodservice solutions to their clients across the UK and recently into Europe. As they scale, the time has come to welcome an experienced Head of HR to lead on all things people and culture. We are looking for an impressive, ambitious senior generalist HR expert who is ready to take a step up and build their own department from scratch.

The Role

  • To lead the people, culture, recruitment and learning and development teams including all HR management and administration
  • Implement HR strategy within the organisation in-line with business strategy
  • Ensure the HR function is always aligned with the business values and objectives
  • To create, manage and deliver HR projects, HR tech platforms and new people initiatives across the business
  • To oversee the compilation of all HR metrics including staff turnover, retention and leavers and provide recommendations on HR metrics that are recorded
  • To regularly review all HR, recruitment and learning and development policies and materials, recommending changes for improvement, producing and delivering and implementing communication around existing and new policies and procedures
  • Ensure that best practice and relevant employment law is followed all employment policies
  • Work within and apply business drivers to people management strategies
  • Introduce and drive change management initiatives and incentive plans
  • Keep all employees informed of key organisational issues
  • Evaluate and implement training and development programmes alongside operations management
  • Lead on and develop an employee engagement and communication strategy
  • Provide a first class, professional, entrepreneurial end-to-end recruitment solution to the business ensuring recruitment of the highest performing and most talented professionals available – in the most candidate centric, innovative and timely way
  • To develop engaging and attraction, onboarding and retention strategies to strengthen the employer brand
  • Lead and drive succession planning to proactively understand staffing needs
  • Carry out regular assessments, including team mapping to assess both recruitment and development needs, building engagement and retention plans to retain and develop teams
  • To lead on performance and career reviews focusing on career development and performance enhancement
  • Develop platforms and appropriate tools and key talent advancement to support effective retention and succession planning.

The Candidate

  • This role requires a confident, professional individual with an innovative and creative approach, a leader and self-starter with a hands-on approach.
  • A minimum of 5 years hospitality HR management experience in the hospitality sector, and ideally in contract catering settings, is essential please
  • CIPD qualifications and/or degree-qualified is desirable
  • Experience in setting up HR systems and processes – the central remit of the role is to work with the existing business to establish and develop all people processes and systems for future growth, spanning recruitment, learning and development, employment relations and HR support.
  • Ability to work flexibly with a mix of office (Central London) and home working, as well as some UK and Europe travel
