The Company

This Brighton based group is the epitome of your neighbourhood restaurant. They are local restaurants that put customers first so the General Manager knows your name and the bartender knows your favourite cocktail. Having been successfully running for over a decade, they now need a Head of Operations to shape and influence the teams to drive exceptional results whilst maintaining and developing the principles and values of the business.

The Role

The Head of Operations will lead from the front by successfully communicating, supporting and constantly evaluating the restaurants to ensure operational excellence. Your view of the role should primarily be in a hands-on capacity, spending a high percentage of your time in the sites, training and supporting your team.

  • Own, plan and make decisions to support the wider succession plan, ensuring you have no live management vacancies and have a flexible people plan to work 3-6 months ahead.
  • Encourage General Managers and Head Chefs to spot talent within their teams, ensuring they are holding quarterly reviews with their teams and Personal Development Plans are in place.
  • Provide weekly, monthly & quarterly forecasts & reports tracking KPI’s.

The Candidate

You will live in (or at least close to) Brighton and have experience of running multiple premium restaurants with a big focus on quality food and guest experience. You aren’t someone who sits behind a computer all day but someone who will be in the businesses daily, acting like a business owner with a focused approach to driving sales whilst being fully aware of costs, profits, resources, the competitive environment and all other commercial aspects, in order to exceed your KPI’s.

  • Have a vision for excellence and methodically look for opportunities to improve daily.
  • Recognize and celebrate success in individuals and also the greater team.
  • Foster good relations, effective communication and teamwork between Front of House and Back of House teams.



I started my career working for a catering company at The NEC and was instantly hooked to the world of hospitality. Since then, I have worked in bars, different venues, and run events around the world. My favourite thing about my career are the people I’ve met along the way so far, so moving into recruitment felt like a natural step for me.
