The Role
This purpose-built, 19,994 sq m destination is the largest of its kind in London, offering a striking blank canvas for culture and commerce; it is a unique opportunity for brands and businesses to interact with global and local audiences. The venue boasts a capacity of up to 3,000 people inside the venue and up to a further 7,000 people across the venue’s outdoor showground.
The space hosts a wide variety of events including exhibitions, music, awards, brand events, filming, summer and Christmas parties.
The Head of Sales and Events reports into the Venue Manager and heads up the sales team which consists of two Sales and Event Managers
The Candidate
We are looking for a Head of Sales and Events to inspire and lead the venue sales team. You will be a people person, with bundles of passion and a strong sense of commerciality. It is vital that the busy diary is managed strategically in order to maximise the venue’s profitability and identify gaps. You will be a fantastic negotiator and have confidence in managing high spend clients and complex contracts. Previous experience of managing a venue sales team is a must.
To be successful, you must be able to prioritise, multi-task and work well under pressure. Reporting and budgeting is a key element of this role, so figures must be easily understood and at your fingertips. A broad understanding of the events industry and the London venue market is necessary.
The Head of Sales and Events needs to work collaboratively with the Head of Operations at the venue to ensure a seamless event journey for all clients. You will work closely with the Marketing team by overseeing the budget and planning proactive sales activity around the venue’s buying cycle. Creative ideas are welcomed and encouraged.
