The Role

A key member of this exciting hospitality and entertainment group’s Leadership team, the Senior General Manager, holds overall accountability for the financial results, team engagement and business performance of the venues & outlets in their estate.

A leader of leaders, this individual is focused on driving success through coaching, mentoring and pushing the management team to challenge norms and deliver to the highest standards.

The Senior General Manager has a keen awareness and understanding of the full range of revenue drivers within the business as well as the capacity to oversee multi-site, multi-brand marketing campaigns.

Always focused on improving efficiency, productivity and results, the Senior General Manager will continuously examine processes for cost control and effective purchasing.

  • Lead the team to achieve the highest level of business results through coaching, mentorship and constant examination of processes and guest experience
  • Provide oversight to all pillars of the business, including sales & revenue, finance, people, marketing and operations.
  • Ensure top line growth with an entrepreneurial approach to driving revenue through a variety of channels.
  • Maximize EBITDA growth through consistent examination of labour productivity, cost control, and effective purchasing
  • Implement and enforce compliance and company policies as appropriate.
  • Engage, motivate and develop the management team through active coaching to objectives, mentorship and training.
  • Work with Market MD and PCD to conduct regular talent reviews and develop action plans to ensure bench strength and effective succession planning.
  • Oversee and approve staffing levels/scheduling within budgetary guidelines and in accordance with operational needs
  • Ensure all employees have the tools they need to perform their jobs
  • Develop staff to include mentoring/empowering staff and identifying growth potential and setting

The Candidate

  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant management experience as an operations leader in a multi-faceted environment including live music, night club, restaurants and bars.
  • Self-motivated leader with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. Able to think creatively about driving business, resolving problems and optimising resources.
  • Proven coaching, mentoring and development skills.
  • Demonstrable business acumen with the ability to analyse and report on financial and quantitative data in concise and actionable formats
  • Deep and broad experience using a variety of digital applications to manage business processes
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Personal license holder a must
