The School of Hospitality and Tourism Management within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences has a world-wide reputation for excellence, ranked number one by the Guardian league table. Our academic team has an international reputation, strong engagement with industry and a highly productive research-culture across Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management.

The School is seeking to expand further and we are now seeking to make a number of new appointments across all levels to join our vibrant and highly successful School. We are pleased to receive applications from strong candidates across Tourism, Hospitality, Events and Transport, and are particularly keen to receive applications from individuals with expertise in Hospitality Operations, Finance, Marketing and Aviation and Transport. Candidates should also demonstrate strong disciplinary backgrounds and an ability to relate their theoretical understanding to the context of the visitor economy. In particular, the school has identified three research priority areas;

Competitiveness in the Visitor Economy; with a focus on forecasting tourism demand, labour studies within tourism and hospitality and productivity.

Sustainability and Well-Being in the Visitor Economy; with a focus on pro-environmental behaviour change, sustainable enterprises, indicators of sustainability and demonstrating the benefits for health and well-being through tourism, hospitality and events.

The Digital Visitor Economy; addressing the role of digital technologies in enhancing the guest experience through augmented reality, smart phones, social media and media such as films.
